*The Testing Services Center is undergoing software changes and is not currently accepting registrations for Placement Testing. Please use the NSO website for the most up-to-date information about when Placement Testing will open.*

  • All first-time students and some transfer students are required to take tests in writing, reading comprehension and math. These tests will determine the most appropriate English and math courses that match your current knowledge and skills. You will then be placed in college-level courses or developmental courses to help you succeed at Bowie State University.
  • If you are required to take a placement exam, it will be at the top of the admissions letter you received in the mail.
  • If you experience problems or require assistance, contact Testing Services at 301-860-3295 or visit the Testing Services Website.

Submit all Final Official Transcripts

  • High School Students—The Office of Admissions must receive your final transcript before the semester begins. Your enrollment process is not complete and your admission is subject to the condition that you graduate high school with satisfactory final grades.
  • Transfer Students—The Office of Admissions must receive your FINAL OFFICIAL transcripts from ALL schools attended BEFORE you attend New Student Orientation. A transfer credit evaluation is completed before you arrive to ensure enrollment in the correct courses; this cannot be completed without the final official transcripts.
